MOHS. PVC AND ALUMINUM WINDOWS

There are many types of PVC and there is a big difference between what is PVC and the PVC that MOHS uses in the manufacture of its profiles.

PVC is a material which, due to its qualities, is ideal for the manufacture of carpentry. For other applications there will be more appropriate materials. But there is no doubt that PVC, and especially the Greenline formula, is the most suitable material for such a specific use as window manufacturing.

Characteristics of PVC

  • Its main property: a material that is NOT electrically and thermally conductive, i.e. a natural insulator.

  • Non-conductive of sound waves and, due to its morphology, a good sound wave absorber.

  • It is a lightweight, chemically inert and harmless material. As a result, it is widely used for a variety of applications in the sanitary and food industry.

  • It belongs to the thermoplastic family, i.e., under the action of heat (140 to 205ºC) it softens and can be easily molded; when cooled, it recovers its initial consistency while retaining its new shape.

  • During its entire life cycle, PVC does not rust or corrode, which reduces maintenance and replacement costs.

  • It has a high shock resistance.
  • More than 65% of PVC applications have a very long service life of up to 100 years.

  • It can be recycled. Unlike wood, PVC, with a suitable process, allows the recycled material to be reincorporated into the production process.
